For me, Mie Anto is probably one of the most anticipated home-cooked noodle restaurants in Makassar, its so-called stall opens daily from 11 AM to 11 PM, wherein crowd does always appear at 8 PM upwards. Having said to Makassar's home-cooked noodle restaurant, it has actually several of it, its most popular one, called "Mie Titie" can be found even in Jakarta. Nevertheless, there are only several tourists or national visitors who recognise Mie Anto as their favorite. My personal experience is that, when I visited Makassar for the very first time, a local driver advised me to pay a visit to this restaurant whereas Mie Anto serves a typical food of "iFu Mie" (a traditional Chinese fried noodle, served with additional kind of soup on it). In my opinion, Mie Anto has actually a distinctive taste from the other home-cooked noodle restaurant in Makassar, it has richer in ingredient, powerful taste of local preference and higher density of soupy ("lebih kental"), as compared with the others. The taste of so-called "Gurih" has been fulfilled my experience when tasting it. Generous portion of garlic, sliced chicken, and its (I'd tell you, "real") crispy-fried noodle have always pleased its customers.
A portion of Mie Anto prices at Rp13.000 (USD1.4), do not forget to add some seasoned-raw cucumber and chili (acar ketimun dan rawit) in order for experiencing sour and spicy flavor. Have a try!
