Santiga Seafood (English Version)

The location: Benhil Jak Pus. In front of BCA Benhil, across the RM Padang Sederhana

From my friend's recommendation, last week I had finally visited the seafood Santiga stall that was located in the Jalan benhil. What i read in Google, all said that the Padang sauce crab was the best meal in this stall. So of course, it was the first thing I ordered when i finally get a spot to sit, the famous Padang Sauce Crab. FYI, in this stall, one portion of the crab consisted of two crabs, so you must tell to waiter if you only want to have one crab. The other menu that we ordered was, Padang sauce prawns, the chicken with butter sauce, and stir-fried kangkung cah telor puyuh. and of course rice and drinks. I ordered mineral water, and minyo had orange juice.
For the fried chicken butter we get them take away because i think we ordered too much food. hehe..

The Padang sauce prawns consisted of 5 quite big prawns. But not big enough, so for the price Rp. 42,000.- to a portion of these prawns for us was quite expensive. Quite tasty, but pricey.

The Kangkung cah telor puyuh priced by Rp. 18,000.- again, it was quite pricey since its sold in a tent stall. But it taste great and came with big portion.

The crab came last. Its size was big, and the crabs meat was very great. You could break off the meat from its shell pretty easy. From information that i read from internet, owner of santiga bought crabs directly from Tarakan each day. So his crab was definitely fresh. Padang sauce taste alright, not spicy enough for my taste. I might say, this padang sauce crab was second best. So far, the best Padang sauce i had was still the Padang Sauce Crab from a restaurant called Ameng 99 Pontianak in Jalan Gunung Sahari :) (i will write about Ameng 99 in a different post). Price for one crab here is Rp. 65,000.- which is quite reasonable since the size is huge. hehehe...

So for recap, the food here was quite good, although the price was expensive for a tent stall food. But because of the location that was close from home and my office most likely i will come back if i want to eat crabs, but too lazy to go to the north of Jakarta, the place where you can find most of the best seafood in Jakarta.
Not the best i've ever had, but just enough for me to come back.
